Kelly joined us in December 2024 and splits her time between both the historic Reijmyre Glassworks and the Almqvist Destilleri.

Growing up in Östersund in the North of Sweden and moving south as a young woman, her love of people saw Kelly gravitate towards a career in hospitality,  following her planned career path the very first job Kelly accepted saw her taking a position as a masseur.

Wanderlust being an integral part of Kelly’s persona a move to England quickly beckoned which saw Kelly immerse herself in English life, culture, and work, living in historic Guildford on the banks of the River Wey - a haven of calm just a short drive from the bustling cosmopolitan delights of London’s bars, restaurants, museums and galleries - Kelly found herself very busy indeed juggling three jobs simultaneously, one in the world of fashion, one in child care, as a Cultural Exchange Childcare Assistant, and one in Guildfords vibrant nightlife scene, where Kelly first acquired an interest in cocktail culture and the world of premium craft spirits.

Returning to Sweden in 2016 Kelly commenced a career in healthcare where she honed her interpersonal skills, proving to be an adaptable and empathetic carer for both the young and old alike, and completed her physiotherapy education, before the allure of the the hospitality industry seduced Kelly back into the world of bars and restaurants, initially in a front-of-house capacity but with a natural flair for organisation and communication the role soon expanding to include her overseeing the logistics of day to day restaurant operations and guest relations, before somewhat inevitably culminating in Kelly accepting a role as Restaurant Manager.

The industry being a tightly woven one and friendly one, it was not ever so long before Kelly and Bex Almqvist first encountered each other, Kelly instantly impressed by Bex’s ambition, drive, creativity and portfolio of spirits, and Bex quickly recognising Kelly’s infectious enthusiasm and natural aptitude for hospitality, the two soon commenced a working relationship, and over the next year Kelly would assist Bex on numerous activations, dinners and events for The Almqvist Destilleri before accepting a full-time position here in Rejmyre one year later.

Her favourite colour is Turquoise, which is also the colour of the water in her favourite tourist destinations, but Kelly is just as at home foraging for blueberries and chanterelles in the countryside of Östergötland County, or knee deep in the bogs of Östersund gathering cloudberries, usually accompanied by her Wheaton Terrier Elsa (everyones favourite employee here in Rejmyre) and on occasion, by Eldix, her beloved 24 year old, ex-harness racing bay horse.

”I love creating fantastic experiencers for our guest here in Rejmyre, the hospitality - the gin and the akvavit of course - the elegant glassware, the fantastic drinking and dining experiences we create and collaborate on, they engender a sense of location and history, and give me a real sense of purpose, I love it…”
